My Sister's Keeper

For your information, I was hunting this novel since December last year. I was indeed crying because I was too late to buy the book from BookXcess (out of stock when I went there).

However I am so lucky of being UM student since UM providing us such a great library with great services. My sister's keeper now included in my read lists.

Picoult know how to play with words that can touch the heart of the readers. She have the spell that can make us cry and finally sobbing.

A story about Anna, a 13-year-old girl who was conceived via in-vitro fertilization technique and was genetically designed to match Kate, her leukaemic sister. Since birth, she had undergone multiple procedure to donate cord blood, blood and bone marrow for her sister’s survival. It was when Kate’s kidney began to fail, Anna refused the ‘obligation’ to donate a kidney to her sister and sued her mother.

My Sister's Keeper makes us realize how much we have to consider what decision make the best result. However in the end the decision were all belong to The Creator (this from my point of view).

First few pages My eyes started few tears, at the middle of the book I cry, in the end I sob very hard..

It is truly beautifully written by Jodi Picoult. The best thing about My Sister's Keeper is the writer put a lot of effort by writing the story from all perspectives of the character inside the book. It was written by the mother perspective (Sara), the father ( Brian), the lawyer (Campbell, the daughter and the brother (Jesse).

This is a book make us grateful of being alive and healthy.

50 Kata-kata Tokoh Berpengaruh

1. Kata-kata ke-5: Pergilah menenun kain (ms:12)

"Pergilah kamu menenun kain. Berikan Pedangmu kepadaku"
Ummu Aiman R. 'Anha.

The Gift

I adore Cecilia Ahern novels..

The Gift is not the best piece from her in my point of view. However, I cry for all the books written by her..

The same effect of crying shockingly happened on the last chapter and I can't help myself to give Cecilia a thumbs up for this.

The best part of the book eventually occurred at the end of the story. The Gift, showed us the importance of time and how we spend it.

From The Gift:

1. Enough time leaves us warm; when our time is gone, it too leaves us cold.

2. Time is more precious than gold, more precious than diamonds, more precious than oil or any valuable treasures. It is time that we do not have enough of; it is time that causes the war within our hearts and so we must spend it wisely.

3. Time can't be given. But it can be shared.

Love it?

Where are they?

I search around the library a few titles that I wish I can borrowed them today but I failed..

Where are those books? They are in the system and they are free from any borrower..

How? I am craving to read "My Sister Keeper" by Jodi Picolt but end up finding another book with the same title but different writer..

Hmm.. Am I in the wrong section?

p/s: I can't be a librarian, I may keep the book by myself.. hehe

House Wife On Top

I love the way Allison write about the friendship that works around the novel itself. It just seem natural and lovely.

I surely said that the starting of the novel was quite boring and made me want to stop reading, however when you reach deep inside the book and you seem to know the character of Helen, Rick, Julia, Sara, Marcus, David, Leonii and Millie..you just want to read more about them..

However, maybe with the crowded character inside the books just make you confused at first then it just the characters itself make up the story..

What I love the most?

1. When Leoni said 'I blame the government.' then continue with ' I'm going to write to those tossers in Downing street and tell them exactly what they can do with their child-friendly policies. It's no wonder kids turn out the way they do these days.'

It is just funny because she can't buy a school shirts just because the mall was stuck with Christmas stuff...

2. When Rosa's cat, Babushka were unexpectedly being killed accidentally by Helen.. It was hilarious!

Overall, I do agree with Allison that it is always the women that made up the festive season a festival since usually the women gone for shopping, it is always only women struggle to cook, most of the time women think about the gifts, the guest lists, the children clothes.. Everything!

Hey! HOUSEWIFE on TOP!

Is there any MALE species beg to disagree?

Heartbreak Library

Jun Oh ask something to Eun Soo.. (Heartbreak library)

I abandoned my laptop a week.. and left alone the internet..

A joyous week with families.. hehe..

Hey, during me holiday I watch this kind of movie called Heartbreak Library.

I love the movie a lot..

The movie started when Eun Soo, a librarian girl, sees Jun Oh tearing certain page of several books and accuses him of vandalism. Then she found out that he only tearing off page 198 of all the books. So she thought that Jun Oh is crazy or psychotic.

Only then, a man that get a sudden epilepsy were saved by Jun Oh, Eun Soo believed that Jun Oh is not crazy and must have a reason for tearing up the pages.

She discovers that there's a complex story behind his actions.

It occurs that Jun Oh's girlfriend, who was a bibliophile and checked out books regularly at the library had suddenly left him with only a mysterious note that says "Look up page 198". Because of the strange note, Jun Oh goes to the same library and tear out page 198 from every book he comes in touch.

Seeing Jun Oh despair for not knowing why the women he loved left him, Eun Soo start to help him find the hidden message on page 198.

The movie has a beautiful scene, funny and touching..

This is the joke that Eun Soo tell Jun Oh while they are travelling to meet Jun Oh's girlfriend..

What are a book and a lover were in common?

Find it out by yourself when you watch the movie.. hehe

p/s: I wish I am a librarian...
